Networking Just to Build Networks is Meaningless

Networking, Networking is the need of every human being whether he is man or woman, young or old. Without networking, life is impossible for our human beings. People who have large networks enjoy their lives to their fullest. They undergo less stress than people who avoid involving with others. But is it always important? Is it necessary to attend every social event just to build networks? Yeah, in one sense it is but not every time.

Some people attend social events just for the sake of other people, not for themselves which is also not at all correct. We need to understand that it is impossible to involve with each and everyone at each and every place. People tend to attend social events because of peer pressure or pressure from their bosses. And even if you are going to social events you should know the reason for your presence in that particular event. The reasoning, about the event just before it, is essential because you cannot waste your most valuable resource, your time just like that.

One way to ensure your optimization of time is social media. Use social media to plan in advance about the event- what all people you will be meeting at the event, what all issues you will be talking about with them in the party. But that was all about your industrial or corporate events, what about other events?

It is nice to explore other areas outside corporate or industrial events also. They will keep you away from your work environment for some time and hence will fill you with fresh energy to do your work. These generic events are also a brilliant way to engage in activities that social media attracts. Now the question that arises is that whether engaging in events on social media or through social media is an indictment? No, not.

In fact, social media have enhanced our reach to more and more people that is an efficient way to build large and reliable networks. You can get to know about the events happening in your region very quickly with just few mouse clicks. Also, wherever you are, you can know about important events with just few clicks. So, more importantly it is about saving our time and energy hence increasing our output. Also, it is easy to locate the people you know and hence get to meet them if they are present around you. You  do not have to wait for their call for the meeting, they can just text you or post somewhere where you can read them and be informed.

So, it is important to have an extensive and right network but it is also equally important to network right. Just before going for some event or party, have a plan in mind to execute so that you can make the event successful not just for your organization but for yourself too. Be picky about the events, it is not necessary to attend every event. Your choosiness will be appreciated by your peers and not to forget by you too. Slowly you will develop a habit of maximizing your time and getting the most out of your networking engagements. You will also find ways suitable for you and are likely to encounter like-minded individuals and people that have a different perspective than you altogether. This habit will ensure your career growth and soon you will feel that you are standing alongside others.
